Gain On The Job Experience With Psychology Internships Abroad In Jamaica

If you are looking to join psychology internships abroad that can fit your busy schedule, you are in luck! We offer full projects that include accommodation, transportations, and meals, placement-only projects where we only arrange your mental health internships abroad, and online volunteer opportunities where you can get on-the-job experience virtually.

Please note that only select medical internships can be conducted online.

Are you seeking psychology internships abroad? If so then you need not look any further than Jamaica! Our psychology internship abroad program is made specifically for college and university students seeking to spend a few weeks abroad while on break from school. It offers you a chance to help boost your skills, provides you with hands-on experience, and enhances your CV simultaneously.

We have partnered with a number of local mental health clinics and facilities, where our psychology interns are able to work in real medical centers with real patients. Interns are given a host of duties, such as assisting in performing administrative tasks, working with the psychiatrist and other mental health professionals to observe and diagnose patients, administering medication, counseling youth, substance abusers and abuse victims, visiting schools and communities to educate locals about mental illness, attend one-on-one or group counseling sessions and much more.

This is the perfect chance to help you to gain on the job experience, and to see what working in the mental health field is really like. Come prepared to be challenged like never before, as you work side by side with local teams to conduct research and field studies, and work with a wide range of causes, some more complex than others.

On the weekends and some days after your project, you can join in on fun cultural activities and adventures, or relax at your accommodation.

So if you are seeking a mental health internship abroad to provide you with valuable work experience while you get acclimated to a new culture, apply now and let us help you make your wish a reality.

Planning Your Project Activities

Once you have been accepted to join our international business internships, your Project Advisor will schedule a call or online meeting with you to discuss the activities and duties you would like to perform on your internship. It is advised that you start thinking about these activities the moment you decide to join this project, to have a better idea of the goals you would like to accomplish.

Some ideas you can think about include:

  • Work on an accounting internship abroad project at a local company, or an accounting firm
  • Volunteer in the human resources department on human resource management internships abroad placements
  • Intern in other business-related fields such as business management or information technology
  • Work with qualified and experienced professionals who will impart tips and pass on skills
  • Test your knowledge by applying what you learned in class to real-world situations
  • Gain course credit *only for supported courses
  • Hone your skills in a real workplace
  • Build relationships with Jamaicans working in your field and broaden your network
  • Learn about workplace ethics and laws in Jamaica

These are just some examples. Feel free to discuss any other activities you would like to engage in during your project.

    • I had a wonderful placement at the pediatric center where the Dr and staff were very welcoming. I was able to develop my manual blood pressure taking ability and other key skills that I’m not able to practice in my typical clinical environment.

    • WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. This was a life changing experience. The children were so great. They gave me and taught me so much more than I gave them. This was one of the most satisfying trips I’ve ever done. Jomo, his mother and Dwayne were great hosts and caretakers. Jamaica and its people will forever be in my heart.
