Barnett’s Homestay

This is the home of Jomo Barnett and his family. Stay with a Jamaican family and get on the fast track to living the Jamaican lifestyle. This is an affordable option where volunteers can stay in a quiet and modest Jamaican home away from the resort areas or busy (and sometimes noisy) Kingston.

Homestay Procedures

Check-In Procedure

Check-in time for homestay is flexible. Upon check-in, you will be welcomed by our Program Advisor and taken to your room to relax, refresh and settle in. You will then be given an orientation on the program, and then served your welcome lunch/dinner. You will also be given a printed copy of your itinerary so that you can track the dates and time of your scheduled activities.

Support

Rest assured you will receive 24/7 emergency support while in Jamaica. If you have a medical emergency, need to get supplies, want to stop at an atm or go to a theatre to see the latest movies, we are here to support you.

Food

Authentic Jamaican breakfast and dinner is included each day. We use organic ingredients when we prepare our delicious meals. We also cater to all diets and special requirements. Whether you are vegan, diabetic, gluten intolerant, etc., we will gladly accommodate you.

Check Out

Check out is usually 2:00 pm, however if your flight departs later then we will work with you, at no extra charge.
