Jamaica is a prime destination for college study abroad programs and alternative breaks, being a tropical island with a vibrant culture and blessed with a rich history. Rum, Reggae music, Rastafarianism, coffee, food, language and even our very way of life are some of the top reasons why Jamaica is such an ideal location for study abroad programs for college students.

Jamaica, however, is a much more suitable option, as we are not overcrowded like these other countries during summer and spring breaks, so your groups will get enough time to properly enjoy each activity planned.

We spent two weeks in Jamaica alternating between painting bedrooms in JNCH and exploring Jamaica through excursions. Our food was provided by a fantastic catering company who gave us traditional Jamaica eating experience every night. Port Royal hotel was ideal for us as we could stay for the full two weeks. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had!
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. This was a life changing experience. The children were so great. They gave me and taught me so much more than I gave them. This was one of the most satisfying trips I’ve ever done. Jomo, his mother and Dwayne were great hosts and caretakers. Jamaica and its people will forever be in my heart.
Unforgettable experience! All of you should try it. It was only my first-time volunteering and I’d love to do it again through the same Jamaica International Projects.
