No prior experience is required to join our teach German abroad program. If you hold a teaching qualification or have formal German language instruction experience, you may qualify for an advanced placement at a school or training centre. Professionals should provide proof of qualifications during the application process.

On day one of your teach German abroad project, your Project Advisor will accompany you to your volunteer site. You will receive a tour of the grounds, meet the staff and students, go through orientation, and learn where to get lunch each day.
When your volunteer teaching is done for the day, you can join one of our tour and cultural adventure packages — waterfalls, beaches, caves, coffee farms, Reggae music, and more. We believe in working hard and playing hard while you teach German abroad.
Once you have completed your teaching German abroad volunteer project, you will receive your Volunteer Certificate signed by our Managing Director. We will also sign any documents you need to verify community service or volunteer hours.
We strongly encourage you to bring items or photos/videos that showcase German culture — food samples, music, board games, clothing, signs, or flags. Consider doing some fundraising back home to collect classroom supplies — markers, pens, pencils, crayons, and stickers. We will send you a recommended resources list after acceptance so you can start gathering items early.

Within a month of the start date of your volunteer to teach German abroad program, we will host a 30-minute onboarding call on Zoom or Google Meets with you. This includes an official welcome, tips and guides, and virtual orientation. You will get access to our language, culture, and travel safety and security courses online, which you can complete at your own pace.
Check your passport to ensure it will not expire during your trip, research if you need a visa to enter Jamaica, obtain a travel medical insurance plan that covers you during your teach German abroad program, and book your flights.

The main exclusions are: flights, daily lunch (~$3–5 USD/day), personal shopping money, optional weekend tours, travel insurance, visa fees (if applicable), and teaching materials. A full breakdown will be provided in your offer email.
