For 1-day or placement only dental volunteer projects are available in Kingston, Montego Bay, Negril, Falmouth, and St. Catherine. For full projects, we offer projects in only Kingston and St. Catherine.
This project was made for dental students, dental professionals and teens that might have an interest in going into the field of dentistry. Whether you want to give back and spread oral hygiene education or perform free dental services, or experience the field first hand before you decide to commit, this project will be customized for you.
No prior experience is needed to join our volunteer dental programs. However, for more advanced placements involving tasks such as dental exams or using dental machinery, specific qualifications and experience are required.
Dentists and dental professionals must provide proof of their qualifications during the application process to secure advanced placements.
To join our dental humanitarian trips, you must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
After applying and paying the enrollment fee and project tuition, you will need to provide the following documents:

We encourage all volunteers to pre-plan for their dental volunteer abroad projects. This will maximize the impact you may have during your project. Upon acceptance, we will assist you in brainstorming activities for your project and schedule a meeting to review your plans.

On your first day, you will visit your volunteer site with your Project Advisor. You will receive a tour, meet your team members, get a brief project orientation, and learn where to get lunch.
During some afternoons and weekends, when you do not have any volunteer work planned, you can purchase a tour and adventure package to enjoy some leisure time during your dental volunteer abroad experience.
Upon completing your dental volunteering overseas project, you will receive a Volunteer Certificate signed by our Managing Director. We will also sign any documents verifying your volunteer or service hours.
We strongly encourage all volunteers joining our international dental volunteer programs to fundraise for resources to donate to your project, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, and mouthwash etc.
We will provide a list of needed resources for your volunteer site.

Schedule a virtual meeting with us. If you are under 18, you are required to have a parent or guardian present. Meetings are done on Zoom, Google Meets, or via phone call.

Within a month of the start date of your dental volunteering abroad program, we will host a 30-minute onboarding call on Zoom or Google Meets with you.
This includes an official welcome, tips and guides, and virtual orientation. You will get access to our Patois, Jamaican culture and our travel safety and security course online that you can complete at your own pace.
Check your passport to ensure it will not expire during your trip, research if you need a visa to stay in Jamaica, obtain a travel medical insurance plan that covers you during your dental volunteering abroad program in Jamaica, and book your flights.
Confirm that all fees are paid and submit all required documents.
There is no restriction on the nationalities that can participate in our international dental volunteer programs in Jamaica. Our only restriction is the age range of our participants, which is 14 and older if you will be traveling alone. Children younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

To get the most out of your work in an orphanage abroad, starting on the recommended Sunday is ideal. This way, you’ll participate in the initial orientation alongside your fellow participants, ensuring everyone is on the same page from the beginning. Need to adjust your arrival date? No problem!
