We grow what we eat, and eat what we grow. As a rural community, we do not always have access to a wide variety of supplies or funding from the Government to run the canteen to feed the school children. As a result, we try to be as self-sufficient as possible, which is why we built our own chicken coop and started raising our own chickens.
However, we still have to purchase and feed the chicks for 6 weeks before we can harvest them to supply the canteen. Our goal is to purchase and raise enough chickens so that we can not only feed the children. but also sell some of the chickens to the local grocery stores and the community to raise the money to buy the next batch of chicks.
Please donate now towards food security and sustainability at the chicken farm at the Little Bay All-Age School.
Our objective as a group is to share information about this campaign with as many friends, family, businesses, and organizations as possible, and try to raise awareness.
In our first meeting, we will meet with the Principal Mr. Keron King to learn more about the school.
