Description

Volunteer Opportunities For Women Empowerment & Rights In Jamaica

Jamaica International Projects has partnered with several local agencies to promote gender equality and the empowerment of youth and women in Jamaica. These volunteer opportunities for women empowerment are designed to eliminate all forms of discrimination, especially against women and to prevent gender based violence.

By participating in our volunteer abroad women's rights projects, you will be able to offer training, support and advice to women in Jamaica. This is your chance to aid in the areas of self-esteem, education, counselling and other services that will equip our women with needed tools to improve the social and economic conditions of themselves and their families.

Volunteer Work For Women's Rights & Domestic Abuse

When you join our volunteer abroad women's empowerment programs, you will be placed in women’s shelters, non-profit organizations, private women’s rights organizations and social work agencies in Jamaica. You will be granted the opportunity to see first-hand the challenges that women living in developing countries face daily, and offer your assistance to help these women overcome these challenges and realize their full potential.

Some Crucial Duties You Will Perform As You Volunteer For Women's Rights Abroad Are:

  • Work with guidance counsellors, teachers and students to educate against gender based violence
  • Visit communities to promote gender equality and the elimination of discrimination against women
  • Assist with counselling women who are victims of abuse or exploitation
  • Teach women job skills
  • Provide entrepreneurial training and assistance
  • Help women suffering from poverty, alcoholism, depression and mental illness
  • Provide administrative support for women’s shelter or development centres
  • Conduct presentations and forums to discuss women’s rights, home violence, leadership, health and other important topics.
