Drug Addiction Volunteers Project Placements

We will place you at either a drug treatment facility or rehab centre in Kingston, Saint Catherine, Montego Bay or Saint Ann.

Amount Of Participants:

This project can accommodate up to 30 volunteers at a time. If you have a larger group we will need to make special arrangements.

In order to join this program, it is required that you are drug and alcohol free. Volunteers with prior arrests for drug abuse will need to submit a drug test with their application.

As a drug addiction volunteer you do not need experience to join this program, however it would be a plus. Students studying a similar field, medical personnel or other suitably qualified volunteers may qualify for more advanced duties during their program.

Project Activities:

As a part of the application process, your Program Advisor will work with you to discuss the activities that you would like to embark on during your program. Planning is the greatest step towards volunteers achieving their goals in Jamaica, so we ask that you plan ahead.

Volunteers are encouraged to collect as many resources and donations as possible from back home to donate to their volunteer work drug addiction project in Jamaica. We will provide you with a list of their greatest needs so you can source them if you wish.

This is NOT compulsory, so let us know if you would rather not seek resources.

We also encourage volunteers to read our crowdfunding & fundraising guide for great ideas to offset the cost of your trip and collect donations. If you would like to access grant and school funding for your trip, or collect donations, we can provide you with any support documentation you may need.

Our volunteer substance abuse program runs for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months. You will need to check your country’s visa requirements if you wish to stay longer.

Your First Day:

You will be accompanied by a Program Advisor on the first day of your project, where you will be introduced to the local staff and given a tour of the facility. Your Program Advisor will ensure that you are settled in and know where you can purchase lunch daily.

Your package covers daily transportation to and from your project. We will operate based off the times in your itinerary, however if you would like to spend more or less time at your project on some days, you can let us know so we can pick you up at the correct time.

Project Completion:

When you complete your project, you will be presented a signed Certificate of Participation from our General Manager. We will also sign any documentation that you require to authenticate volunteer hours.

Recommended To Take With You:

We recommend that persons joining our volunteer work in drug and alcohol programs bring along the following items for a comfortable and fulfilling experience:

*Money to purchase lunch – lunch in Jamaica is affordable, and would cost about $3-$5 USD per day.
