Blue Mountain Coffee Jamaica Tour - Jamaican Coffee Plantation Tour And Lecture

Our Jamaica coffee tour and field trip is designed for students and other persons seeking to learn more about the world renowned Blue Mountain or Jamaica High Mountain Coffee. Jamaica International Projects will work with Creighton Estate up in the Blue Mountains or the High Mountain team to organize a comprehensive educational field trip and Jamaican coffee tour to teach you about our coffee industry.


Coffee is one of Jamaica’s most profitable crops, and a major foreign exchange earner for the island. By joining our Jamaican coffee tours and lecture you will receive a tour of the coffee field, a lecture on how coffee is grown and processed, demonstrations and a chance to sample a fresh cup of Blue Mountain Coffee at the end.


Coffee Plantation Jamaica Field Trip Includes:

  • Transfer from accommodation to Blue Mountain Coffee Jamaica tour or High Mountain Coffee factory Jamaica
  • Tour of the coffee field to see coffee plants
  • Lecture on how coffee is grown, harvested, processed and packaged
  • A demonstration on how coffee beans are dried and ground
  • Access to Creighton Estate, a sprawling 18th century plantation in the Blue Mountains or the High Mountain Coffee field and factory
  • A fresh cup of coffee to sample the finished product
  • Chance to purchase lunch
  • Return transfer to accommodation or other scheduled activities

Upon completion of this Jamaican coffee plantation field trip, students will be able to:

• Complete coffee plantation tours in Jamaica to understanding how coffee is grown and processed
• Identify coffee crops at varying stages of development
• Learn the optimal soil, watering requirements and climate for growing coffee
• Know how to differentiate between coffee beans that are good and spoilt ones
• Properly roast coffee beans
• Learn about the history of coffee production in Jamaica
• Be able to identify the coffee plant and beans
• List the various equipment used in coffee cultivation and processing
• Sample a fresh cup of Blue Mountain or Jamaica High Mountain Coffee
