Description

HIV Volunteer Abroad - Support Our HIV AIDS Volunteer Opportunities In Jamaica

It is estimated that 32,000 Jamaicans are living with HIV/AIDS, and approximately 50% of this figure are unaware that they are infected. This is not only caused by unprotected sex, but also the stigma and misconceptions that many Jamaicans have about the transmission of HIV/AIDS. This is why help is needed on our HIV AIDS volunteer opportunities to help in the fight against this deadly virus.

This project is aimed at assisting persons living in Jamaica with HIV/AIDS by providing them with the proper care, treatment and support they deserve. We work with local Non-Profit organizations aimed at the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS in Jamaica.

Volunteers are also tasked with helping local organizations with raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and educating Jamaicans about this and other sexually transmitted infections. This program is perfect for anyone looking to offer assistance, especially in a medical capacity. Although you do not need prior medical experience to participate in these projects, it would be an asset.

So if you are planning to join our HIV volunteer abroad programs in Jamaica, apply now and take the first step towards helping a hand to Jamaicans in need.

How You Can Help On Your HIV AIDS Volunteer Abroad Program:

  • *Help counsel, educate and support persons living with HIV/AIDS by educating them on ways to manage the virus
  • *Join community outreach groups aimed at offering free HIV/AIDS tests, issuing condoms, information pamphlets and demonstrating proper condom usage
  • *Visit schools, clinics and other organizations to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections
  • *Educate Jamaicans on sexual health, STI preventions, birth control, family planning and other related topics
  • *Assist with researching trends in the local community
  • *Visit and counsel orphans and children living with HIV, and show them you care.
  • *Visit the homes and hospitals of persons living with AIDS and offering information, counselling/support to clients and family members, medication and care packages of groceries and health aid
  • *Do a fundraising campaign back home to raise cash and kind to donate to the hospital or clinic where you will be volunteering
